On October 5, 2025, Zeba Books hosted “Poetic Expressions,” a virtual spectacular where the captivating realm of poetry seamlessly merged with the boundless possibilities of the internet. Wordsmiths from myriad backgrounds and linguistic heritages convened via Zoom to unveil their verses, their deepest sentiments, and their inner worlds. In a testament to their deep appreciation for literary talent, Zeba Books made history by bestowing upon one exceptional poet the ultimate accolade: a professional book publishing contract.
The Digital Dais for Rhyme and Rhythm
In an era where the digital sphere unlocks endless creative avenues, Zeba Books championed the profound art of poetry. The chosen medium was Zoom, and the platform was virtual, yet the emotion and imaginative prowess were utterly genuine. Poetry, often regarded as literature’s most authentic voice, discovered a new sanctuary during this online assembly. Notably, the event celebrated burgeoning talent, with the youngest participant being a student in the 9th grade, demonstrating that passion for poetry knows no age.
Harmony in Expression: English, Hindi, and Urdu
“Poetic Expressions” was a vibrant tapestry of shared expression. The gathering served as an homage to linguistic diversity, illuminating the intrinsic beauty of words articulated in three captivating languages: English, Hindi, and Urdu. The poets effortlessly crossed linguistic divides to engage a global audience, affirming that feelings and narratives are universally understood.
The Resonance of English Verse
Asiya Kamal, one of the presenting poets, articulated her thoughts with lines:
Poetry became my religion when gods fell asleep,
I stitched verses to my wounds and called it art.
Every metaphor is a prayer, the world forgot,
every rhyme, a funeral of truth dressed in beauty.
Bismita Binay a member of Zeba Books as well as a fellow participant, asks in her poem ‘I wonder’:
Will the hole of treachery be ever filled with blossoms of trust?
A tryst with a new life, is it still possible to be done?
I wonder if the story will end with a crime of passion,
A truth lost in in the justice that is so old fashioned.
The Reward: A Prestigious Book Deal
The defining moment of the evening was the major award — a book publishing agreement. For the poet who has long harboured the aspiration of seeing their verses bound in print, this represented the golden opportunity. Zeba Books, in their dedicated pursuit of nurturing literary proficiency, pledged to transform the selected poem into a published work, poised to inspire readers around the globe.
The Judges’ Challenge and The Honored Winner
Selecting the single premier poet proved to be an arduous undertaking for the judge. Every submission possessed its own distinct appeal, and the accompanying emotions were deeply moving. The event was expertly adjudicated by Dr Sadaf Fareed, an educator from Aligarh Muslim University. Dr Fareed summarized the event’s essence:
Poetry is not about reading a few sentences, it is about emotions, feelings, and how you express your ideas through poetry.
Following intensive deliberation, Zeba Books announced the one poet who would have her poem molded into a published volume. Her composition resonated deeply with the judge — Asiya Kamal.
Conclusion: A Moment of Literary Acclaim
“Poetic Expressions” was a triumph of the human spirit. It demonstrated the enduring vitality of poetry, proving that even within the constraints of digital screens and virtual venues, the force of words is transformative. Zeba Books empowered one poet to pursue her aspirations, linking her with a global community that shares a deep-seated appreciation for language and emotion.
