A Field Between My Past & My Future

Poetic Expressions 4.0 by Zeba Books

By: Aiman Jabeen

I sit in a field between my past & future
And I think I like it here
Here, where all that is true and real exists
Here where I’m not impatient
Here when I am safe. The sun is forging its daily
Path across the sky.
And turn my face toward it.
My shadow lands behind. Everything that has been
or will be
I release. Tomorrow will arrive when it arrives
I will rise when I rise
But for now, I sit in a field between
my past and my future
But I think I like it here.

I dwell in the space between breaths
A pause between what is been and what’s next
In this quiet quiet quiet I find my voice
A whisper of truths, a heartbeat of choice
I wander through days, lost in thought
Threads of moments, woven like a plot
In the tapestry of time, I search for a thread
To weave my story, where heart and soul
are fed.
But for now I sit in a field between
my past & my future.
But I think I like it here.
